The day didn't start that way, mind you, but shortly after 7am, I knew this would be one of those "funky" 'tude days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did not one, but TWO &lt;a href="http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/insanity.do?gclid=CLeDrKKy8KECFYM65Qodp1n4KQ&amp;amp;code=GOOGLE_SEMB_INSANITY&amp;amp;extcmp=13286778763&amp;amp;ef_id=1908:3:s_485e5a2675091f65b2979f8740ebfe71_4236179323:S-1jStBbriUAAGpjpHUAAAXA:20100526180706"&gt;Insanity&lt;/a&gt; workouts yesterday (fit test in the am; Max Cardio Conditioning in the pm). I've been eating REALLY clean.....lots of fiber, structured meals, olive oil, no takeout, cooking at home, the whole deal. I had a doctor's appt on Monday, and my weight was &lt;strong&gt;215.4. &lt;/strong&gt;I was ecstatic! But then....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I take my weight this morning, and it's &lt;strong&gt;218.2&lt;/strong&gt;!!!! This is impossible. There's no way I've gained nearly 3lbs in 2 days. This would mean that I've eaten approximately 9,000 calories a day since Monday, with NO activity, and believe me I haven't. That's at least 2 trips to Maggianno's, and I haven't been there in 2 months!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will &lt;strong&gt;not&lt;/strong&gt; be deterred. The "Big Girl" in me is obviously having a struggle with the "&lt;a href="http://innervideovixen.blogspot.com/"&gt;Sexy IVV&lt;/a&gt;" and my girl &lt;a href="http://innervideovixen.blogspot.com/"&gt;IVV&lt;/a&gt; will win this battle. I promise!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now that the dramatics are out of the way....here are my weight and measurement #s for the week:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Weight: &lt;strong&gt;218.2&lt;/strong&gt; (I DON'T belive this #, FYI)&lt;br /&gt;Chest: &lt;strong&gt;36"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Upper Waist: &lt;strong&gt;33.25"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lower Waist/Upper Hips: &lt;strong&gt;36" &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hips: &lt;strong&gt;40.5"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thighs: &lt;strong&gt;26"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arms: &lt;strong&gt;13.75"&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Body Fat Percentage: Ok, so this is where there's some discrepency....my doctor's scale puts it at &lt;strong&gt;41%&lt;/strong&gt;, but my home scale (now that I know how to work it lol) puts it at &lt;strong&gt;35.3%&lt;/strong&gt;. So I don't know which to believe! As long as they both keep going down though, I guess I'm doing something right.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm traveling to NYC this weekend, so I'm gonna scale back &lt;strong&gt;my goal for next week to 3lbs&lt;/strong&gt;, putting me at 215 for Monday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are my &lt;strong&gt;Fit Test numbers&lt;/strong&gt; from yesterday. **Note- I did NOT do these full out because I knew I'd be working out again in the evening. So while some of the numers may look lower than last time, they're not really. At least these put a smile on my face:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Switch Kicks:&lt;strong&gt; 130&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Power Jacks:&lt;strong&gt; 52&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Power Knees:&lt;strong&gt; 95&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Power Jumps:&lt;strong&gt; 38&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Frog Jumps: &lt;strong&gt;9&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Suicide Jumps: &lt;strong&gt;11&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Push-up Jacks:&lt;strong&gt; 28&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Plank Knees:&lt;strong&gt; 62&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh, and I do have 1 other bit of good news. My doctor says my resting pulse is "52". I had no idea what that meant, so he explained that the typical resting pulse of ATHLETES is 45-55! Who-hoo! I have the pulse of an athlete, so the body can't be far behind! Between the kids, work, and drama, things have been crazy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For a while, even with my Insanity workouts (which we're still doing!), my weight didn't budge.  I got down as low as 221, but the scale refused to move past it.  I tried everything, and nothing worked.  So, the depression started....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But I have GREAT NEWS! I broke through, finally!  &lt;strong&gt;As of yesterday, my weight was&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;216.6&lt;/strong&gt;, and I've actually lost nearly 8 lbs in the last 8 days.  I've tweaked my workout, practiced responsible breathing, limit my calories, and most importantly, I've finally gotten in touch with the reasons I'm overeating!  I feel great.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I'm due to take my weight and measurements again tomorrow....I promise to post again. Here are my fit test #s from today:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Switch Kicks: 120---- +4**  ( I actually did these correctly this time- full out! so that 4 is really alot more)&lt;br /&gt;Power Jacks: 41---- +4&lt;br /&gt;Power Knees: 100---- +16&lt;br /&gt;Power Jumps: 20---- +0&lt;br /&gt;Frog Jumps: 8------ +2 rotations&lt;br /&gt;Suicides: 16-------- +6&lt;br /&gt;Push-up Jacks: 21---- +6&lt;br /&gt;Plank/Knees: 50----- +10&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Obvi, I need to work on those power jumps, but overall I'm happy. Went to Old Country on Saturday (rib night!), and then to Maggiano's (the best Italian restauarant in the world!) with my gfs on Sunday afternoon.  Tried to limit portion sizes, but let's be honest--- no matter what I eat at these places it's a problem!  lol.  I'm trying not to be too hard on myself, but it's hard.  I realize that's why I've failed so many times in the past--- I don't cut myself any slack. EVER.  I have to stop doing that....it's self-sabatouge.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I'm recommitting this week to eating better, and I'm going to try to squeeze in a few 20 minute workout sessions this week, IN ADDITION to the Insanity Workouts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My &lt;strong&gt;goal for the week (Friday)&lt;/strong&gt; is &lt;strong&gt;222&lt;/strong&gt;. When you've been heavy all your life, you have a very wharped view of what it means to be in shape. I was reviewing my &lt;strong&gt;Ultimate Goals&lt;/strong&gt; and I think I can do alot better than them. I also took a sneak look at my "before" (Insanity) pics, and I'm carrying so much fat around my middle...definitely not a sexy look and definitely not healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I'm revising my Ultimate Goal #s! I know I can't spot reduce, but I've based my new #s on my actual body shape and where I see that I need to and can lose fat. I've never worn a 6 in all of my life, but I fel so inspired by my progress last week. I think my new #s are healthy and reasonable for my body shape. I haven't felt deprived at all this week, and this is the first time I can actually say that. So, hopefully, the numbers will come down as soon as I actually come on my period.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hubby and I did day 1 of the Insanity Workout today- OMG!! We almost died, but we got through it. Here are my fit test #s:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Switch Kicks: 116&lt;br /&gt;Jacks: 37&lt;br /&gt;Power Knees: 84&lt;br /&gt;Power Jumps: 20&lt;br /&gt;Frog Jumps: 6 rotations&lt;br /&gt;Suicides: 10&lt;br /&gt;Push-up Jacks: 15&lt;br /&gt;Plank/Knees: 40&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have never been this tired in all my life! The fit test is only 25 minutes, but my heart rate was much higher than it is when I work out for 1 hour! I'm so excited about this workout plan, and I think this is what I need to see some real movement in my weight and measurment #s.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll post results next week. I knew this weekend would be hard cuz me and the hubby were celebrating Valentine's Day weekend (which was GREAT btw), but I can't help it- I am.  We ate REALLY well this weekend- great restaurants (breakfast, dinner), alcohol, sweets (chocolates, ice cream, candy...the list goes on lol), but I thought I had a plan in place.  I did try to limit my portion sizes; we walked everywhere this weekend (left our car at home), and I did my 5th workout day on Saturday, and a bonus 6th workout on Sunday. My &lt;strong&gt;goal weight for the week is 229.5. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The one good thing that came out of the weekend was that I got to try out some of my &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Inner Video Vixen&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; moves on the hub this weekend.... Owww!  He loved it....imagine his reaction at 165?? Not such a bad thing, but I was really hoping to get below 230.  I'm not too down though, &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;cuz&lt;/span&gt;....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Good News is that my lower waist/upper hip measurement is &lt;strong&gt;39"&lt;/strong&gt;!!!  That's a &lt;strong&gt;2" weight loss&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;in 1 week&lt;/strong&gt;!  I'll definitely take that.  I'll be posting all of my updated measurements and weights on Monday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Me and the hubby are going away this weekend for Valentine's Day. I hope I have enough self-control to get me through the weekend &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;lol&lt;/span&gt;. My children have been out school all week because of the huge snow storm we're experiencing (and driving me crazy &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;lol&lt;/span&gt;), so I've been worried that I wouldn't get my full 45-55 minutes of &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;cardio&lt;/span&gt; in. My 3 year old decided to take pity on me, however, and took a 3 hour nap! For the first time ever, I completed the ENTIRE 90 MINUTE &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Tai&lt;/span&gt; Bo Ultimate Workout &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;dvd&lt;/span&gt;! I bought it a year ago, and have NEVER done the whole video, but, inspired by my 2.5 lb weight loss yesterday I pushed through. I'm so proud of myself!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BUT.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And yes, with me there's always a but :-) Because I didn't fuel my body well &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;pre&lt;/span&gt;-workout, I was STARVING afterwards. And you know what the &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Inner Video Vixen&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; does when she's starving? I let my cravings speak for me. I ordered a half-&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;cheeseburger&lt;/span&gt; sub (it was delicious) and french fries, BUT, I did split it with my hubby. I just hope I didn't undo all of the extra calories I burned yesterday.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I guess we'll have to see at my weigh-in tomorrow! I hope that I can break the 230 and get to &lt;strong&gt;229&lt;/strong&gt;....that would make my week! We'll just have to see. In 1 Day!</title><content type='html'>So.... I know I'm not supposed to weigh myself back to back, but I couldn't help it! I don't know about you, but I've become more aware of my body over the last couple of years, and I can actually tell when I've lost weight. Even a couple of pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So....I had that feeling this morning, and I stepped on the scale, and it read......&lt;strong&gt;230.4&lt;/strong&gt;!!!! Now, this could mean nothing, or it could mean that I &lt;strong&gt;lost 2.5lbs since yesterday&lt;/strong&gt; (I'll take the latter lol). I did work out really hard yesterday with my Firm Bootcamp video. And I kept my eating in check too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yay!!!! I can do this! I LOVE the Firm workout videos- I can get my cardio and weight lifting in in under an hour. But...I now think I'm reaching my peak with these videos and I need something more intensive. I've just ordered the Insanity Workout and P90X workout videos- I'll be sure to update you guys on my progress with those!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ok.....food. This is my weakness. I love it too much! I'm trying to watch my portions, listen to my body, increase fiber....all of the things they tell you to do to lose weight. But I refuse to deny myself food....I've tried that before and it doesn't work for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My weight is creeping off this time, only about 2lbs per week, but in the long run, I guess this isn't a bad thing. I'm so excited. Sadly, it seems that I've been trying to lose weight all of my life, but I'm finally ready to change how I view myself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So...how did I come up with my blog name- &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Inner Video Vixen&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;? Anyone who knows me knows that female empowerment, self-respect and role-modeling are all issues that are very dear to my heart, and these are not necessarily themes that come to mind when you think of a Video Vixen! But you know what?? Just between me and you, I can admit that I've always admired how confident these women seem to be with their body image. I want to be like that! How men seem to salivate when they sashay into a room- I want to be salivated at! How their jeans and dresses and tops seem to fit just perfectly, no everyday girdles required- I want to look like that!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So....the &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Inner Video Vixen&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; has been born. God help me lol.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope that my journey inspires you to meet whatever goals you have in your life- weight loss or otherwise.
